Program Overview
The Math Recovery Intervention Specialist Professional Development program includes ten days of course work and associated follow-up sessions that take place of over the course of a year. The first five days of course work prepare the teacher to administer and analyze Math Recovery assessments, as well as identify and select students for Math Recovery intervention. The next five days of course work prepare the teacher to provide Math Recovery intervention.
The program provides a framework for intensive, individualized teaching to help advance low attaining students so they are likely to be successful learners in a regular classroom environment. Follow-up sessions include a minimum of three on-site one-on-one coaching sessions with a Math Recovery Leader and a minimum of three facilitated collegial team meetings.

The course is scheduled for Nov 3 - 6, 2009. Remaining dates to be determined.
Sessions run from 8:30am to 4:00pm each day with 1 hour for lunch.

Attendees are responsible for their own travel and hotel reservations/payment. Attendees are on their own for all meals.

Registration Fees
The Math Recovery Intervention Specialist course is $4325 + the cost of the teacher kit ($1175) for the first teacher in a district with scalable discounts for additional participants
Fees Include:
- Access to Math Recovery tools and copyrighted material
- Assessment and teaching kits, textbooks and program handbooks
- All travel and consulting costs for on-site coaching
- Membership to the US Math Recovery Council for remainder of calendar year
- Certification by the University of Southern Cross, Australia.
Payment Process
Training costs can be invoiced by the US Council of
Math Recovery or you can include a purchase order number, or check with your
registration. Please complete all of the billing information on the
application. Make payment to US Math Recovery Council in U.S.
Funds. Federal ID# 05-0539027.

What to Bring
Participants should bring note-taking supplies and plan on having a couple of hours of homework each night. If participants have videotaping equipment they will be using for their Math Recovery work, it might be helpful to bring that along to get experience working with the equipment.
