Add+VantageMR® Exploratory Awards are open to individuals or teams who are interested in getting started with Add+VantageMR® professional development.

USMRC is awarding scholarships for Add+VantageMR® Fractions. Whether this is your first experience with Add+VantageMR, or if your school is hoping to bring it back after years of not using Add+VantageMR, submit your application today.

Math Recovery wants educators to be able to experience high-quality, evidence-based professional development. Add+VantageMR® helps educators pinpoint students' current needs in mathematics and how to best address those needs.

Add+VantageMR instructors will guide you as you incorporate meaningful mathematics lessons in your virtual, blended, and/or face-to-face environments. Accelerate your ability to recognize students' current levels of numeracy understanding to make data-driven instructional decisions through Add+VantageMR assessments, data collection, and teaching tools.

Add+VantageMR® Fractions (AVMR Fractions)

Assessment Guided Instruction
AVMR Fractions explores the difficulties many students have making sense of fractions and supports teachers in understanding this complex numeracy topic with the goal of facilitating student advancement in fractions concepts.

AVMR Fractions is a virtual course of independent, self- paced learning activities alongside a series of 8 collegial team meetings. Participants can expect approx. 60-120 additional minutes each week of self-paced online learning modules, course reading, and time to implement assessments and instructional activities with students.

Add+VantageMR Fractions supports elementary educators in diagnosing and advancing student understanding and numeracy development. Participants leave the course ready to work with students and implement new knowledge in their assessment and teaching practices to meet the needs of a diverse range of students. Who Should Apply?

This tuition assistance award is meant to benefit a school that is not currently implementing any Math Recovery® programs. Any Elementary or Middle School educator is welcome apply, including:

  • classroom teachers
  • special education teachers
  • math interventionists
  • math coaches
  • para-educators
  • building and district administrators

Applications can be submitted individually or as a group if more than one educator from your school would like to attend.

All awardees and non-awardees will be contacted after the evaluation of all applications. The award notification, acceptance of awards, and course registration take time, so thank you in advance for your patience with any notifications. We request that you do not contact Math Recovery about the status of your application.

At this time, with such a high demand for scholarship requests, only applications from United States educators will be considered. USMRC would love to explore offering awards to international educators as/if demand or capacity changes.

Course Expectations: Commitment to attend all 8 Add+VantageMR® course sessions. You must have your own dedicated space and computer during the online interactive professional development sessions.
