Introducing New Board Members
USMRC welcomes two new board members this year. Anne N. Catena, Ed.D. is the director of Professional Development Initiatives, a lecturer, and program associate with The Program in Teacher Preparation at Princeton University. Dr. Catena is the lead instructor in the Seminar in Education: Theory and Practice and advises and supervises student teachers pursuing certification in mathematics and the sciences. Dr. Catena directs professional development programs with and for novice, experienced and master teachers. Working with K-12 content experts, teachers and administrators, as well as the most current researchers in STEM fields at Princeton University, have informed her of the realities of school based decision making, the importance of implementation and ways to help teachers effectively work with students.
Fred Reynolds is an Early Intervention/Remedial Math Teacher in the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District. He works with children in grades K-2, focusing on early numeracy based on the principles of Math Recovery®. Mr. Reynolds has been working in the Cobleskill-Richmondville School District since 1994. Including his current position, he has also taught Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades. Mr. Reynolds received his Masters of Science in Education from The State University of New York College at Oneonta, Bachelors of Science from the College of Saint Rose, and Associates in Applied Science from the State University of New York College at Cobleskill.
