US Math Recovery Hires Carolyn K. Olijnek as CEO
Nashville, TN (April 5, 2013) - Math Recovery®, a non-profit mathematics intervention council announces that Carolyn K. Olijnek joins the organization as its first Chief Executive Officer. Olijnek is a forward thinking professional that will lead Math Recovery® into the future with proven leadership and management skills and experience. She has supported Math Recovery® in numerous ways as a mathematics trainer and as a presenter at various Math Recovery® Conferences. She has also created Math Recovery® Instructional Guides and created a data analysis tool and framework for the District Assessment Center.

Olijnek joins US Math Recovery® after working twenty years in the Minnesota public school system as an elementary school teacher with much of her experience in Math. She has also provided mathematics support and training for administrators, K-5 teachers, students, and parents, including development days for district staff.
Olijnek has a M.Ed. from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota-Morris. She has received formal training as a Math Recovery® Intervention Specialist and completed the Advanced Specialist, AVMR Champion, and SNAP Facilitator trainings.
Olijnek will meet math professionals from across the country in her new CEO role at the Math Recovery® Annual Conference in Denver, May 1-3, 2013 at the Renaissance Denver Hotel.
The US Math Recovery® Council is a non-profit organization that creates and foster attitudes, cultures, and climates that lead to change in mathematics learning and teaching practices, dedicated to overseeing and managing the Math Recovery® program and its materials, methodology, training, professional development, and related intellectual property in the United States.
