This was a great course. I wish all teachers at my school could take it.
-
By far, one of the best ever! All of the information is useful in the classroom. I loved how the materials we received go right along with the course and can help guide our instruction in the classroom. The tests are quick for the handful of students that need extra help.
-
This course was wonderful. I really enjoyed getting all of the background information about how students develop in their mathematical thinking. I also enjoyed being able to practice the assessments and discuss it during class.
-
This course was extremely relevant to student achievement in math, identifying the problem areas, and addressing them. This course was so much more valuable that just about any other math training I have every received!
-
I think this will greatly impact my teaching. Already, I can pinpoint why students are struggling with certain objectives or concepts. I now know how to teach them to gain the cognitive shift to go from one construct to another.
-
Add+VantageMR gives me an in-depth look into each student's math abilities. It will have a great personal impact on each of my struggling math students.
-
As usual, you have blown me away with all the new information that is so relevant to teaching children fractions. I will be working with a group of 4th graders and am looking forward to trying the activities and moving fraction thinking forward. I am in the process of doing AVMR 1 and AVMR 2 training in my district and am also blown away with how much all of this work is connecting. The facilitators were wonderful. Thanks for all your help.
-
Hands down, this is the most applicable and exciting teacher training I have ever had! I feel empowered to be able to really effect student's understanding of not just how to do math, but how numbers and math work!
-
Diagnostically, the MRIS assessments are the very best I have seen for math (I am a former School Psychologist). The intensive training and hours required might hinder broad training of local district teachers/consultants/interventionists.

The Math Recovery classes are the BEST pd I have encountered. It is research based, diagnostic and prescriptive. I appreciate that I'm taught not only how to figure out what a child knows, but given guidance in how to choose what should be next for that student.
