Exploring UDL in Math: Dawn Dibley to Present at Build Math Minds 2025

The Build Math Minds 2025 Virtual Math Summit will take place February 22nd and 23rd, 2025 and include US Math Recovery®'s Dawn Dibley. Dawn is an Instructional Coach at USMRC presenting, Universal Design for Learning and Mathematics.

With three decades of experience as a music therapist, classroom teacher, and mathematics coach, Dawn brings a unique perspective to math education. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Music Therapy and a master's in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities from the University of Minnesota. Her work focuses on utilizing Math Recovery® assessments and teaching practices to support students with disabilities.

In her session, "Universal Design for Learning and Mathematics," Dawn will explore how educators can implement the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to create inclusive math lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students. UDL emphasizes providing multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed in mathematics.
